Counsellors must be experienced working with youth and have a post secondary degree with a clinical (counselling) concentration and/or a diploma specializing in addictions. As important as the skills and experience, counsellors must enjoy and respect youth. Staff benefit from ongoing professional development, clinical supervision and consultation. In addition to the approximately 11 counselling positions, AY staff also includes the executive director and bookkeeper/receptionist.
